The Predator comic books are part of the Predator franchise and has had several titles published based on the license, most of which are part of the Dark Horse Comics line (Dark Horse also publishes the Aliens and Alien vs. Predator lines of comics) but other comics by other distributors have been made. All Predator solo comics, not counting crossovers like Fire and Stone, were set on Earth in either the present or past until Marvel's 2022 reboot moved the setting for the first time from Earth and into the future. Some continuity was retained due to the return of John Schaefer.

In Their Own Story

The jungle air was thick with humidity, masking the heat signature of the creature moving silently above. Below, the warrior tightened his grip on a jagged blade, sweat stinging his eyes as he scanned the canopy. He knew something was there; the sudden silence of the insects and the shifting shadows betrayed an invisible presence. A low, guttural click echoed from the darkness, followed by the hum of a plasma caster charging. The warrior did not flinch. He had come to this world seeking death or glory, and now, the hunter had finally revealed itself.

Reader's Guide

Originating from an unknown homeworld in the Yautja system, these warriors are tall, muscular humanoids covered in thick, leathery skin and adorned with dreadlock-like appendages. Their most striking feature is a complex bio-mask that provides thermal vision and communication capabilities. Physically, they possess immense strength and durability, capable of surviving extreme environments and injuries that would kill lesser beings. They wear tribal armor made from the hides of their kills and carry an array of advanced weaponry, including wrist gauntlets with retractable blades and shoulder-mounted plasma casters. Their hunting style is methodical and psychological; they often toy with prey before delivering a fatal blow, respecting those who fight back with honor. Key appearances in popular media include the dense jungles of Central America, the icy wastes of Antarctica, and the urban sprawl of modern cities, where they have encountered humans, dinosaurs, and even other alien species. Relationships with other characters are typically adversarial, defined by the dynamic of predator versus prey. However, rare instances show them respecting worthy opponents who survive their gauntlet, occasionally sparing such individuals or leaving behind a trophy as a sign of mutual respect.
